5/30/2017 Remembering Gregg Allman

Gregory LeNoir "Gregg" Allman (December 8, 1947 – May 27, 2017) was an American musician, singer, keyboardist and songwriter best known for performing in The Allman Brothers Band. In 1977, they released the album “Playin’ Up A Storm” which contains a moving rendition of the Bill Giant - Bernie Baum - Florence Kaye song “It Ain’t No Use.” The song had been recorded thirteen years earlier by Lou Johnson for the Hilltop Records label. Listening to Allman’s soulful vocals one understands why he was referred to as a pioneer in Southern rock and would later be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Raleigh Music together with Giant Baum Kaye LLC mourn the passing of this seminal artist.
