Lyrics

Ting ting named herself after the rain and the sound it makes as it falls and her roof.

But the roof is long gone in the shack she was born in and the walls stay wet cuz the river rages on

And ting ting’s mother is the great blue heron that squawks sweet songs just to help ting sleep

And she sings

sleep ting ting
for when you wake the sun will make a crown
just for you to wear in your golden hair
and nothing’s gonna harm you now

ting ting drinks from little blue bottles she fills with rain that calls her name

and when she drinks she drinks so slowly cuz this is how she prays

and ting ting’s father is the dust and the water that fills the cracks in ting ting’s shack

and he sings

sleep ting ting
for when you wake the sun will make a crown
just for you to wear in your golden hair
and nothing’s gonna harm you now

ooh oooh ooooh ooooh ooh oohhh

sleep ting ting
for when you wake the sun will make a crown
just for you to wear in your golden hair
and nothing’s gonna harm you now, no nothing’s gonna stop you now

no nothing’s gonna harm you now.
